Omg…Who Did Pitbull Just Collab With??!

Mr. Worldwide has always enjoyed working with a variety of artists that range widely across the musical spectrum. Whether it’s Marc Anthony or Jennifer Lopez or even Christina Aguilera, Pitbull adapts easily to every singer he works with. And now, adding to that mix is the Israeli pop duo Static and Ben El on their single “Further Up (Na, Na, Na, Na, Na)”.

For the Israeli duo, getting a Grammy-winning rap star on board has been a dream come true.
“We were shocked, Pitbull is a big deal. He’s a megastar. He’s had a huge influence on us as artists. He’s been grinding for a long long time,” said Static.
“It’s an honor,” added Ben El. “We’ve been fans of his forever. It means everything to us to have him on this project.”
And it’s true, for those who’ve grown up listening to T-Pain and Akon, Pitbull was that shiny new toy that fell under the radar in 2009, when he came out with his breakthrough hit, ‘I know you want me’.

Further Up (Na, Na, Na, Na, Na)” is also the first release from Saban Music Group, which just a day prior unveiled a distribution and marketing partnership with Universal Music Group

Saban, who is passionate about Israeli music said in a statement, “I think Israel is the best-kept secret when it comes to music, and not a lot of Israeli artists have broken into the international sphere, so there’s a lot of passion there that is not fulfilled yet,” He added, “One of my goals is to give these incredibly talented Israeli musicians the exposure they deserve worldwide.”
Now to just fill you in on the backstory of this Israeli duo, Static (Liraz Russo) has been performing at Israeli music festivals since the age of 15, while Ben El Tavori has been singing alongside his father, the famous Israeli singer Shimshon “Shimi” Tavori since the age of 14. To be performing at such a young age is truly commendable and it’s also a clear sign that there’s no dearth of talent when it comes to the boys.

With the duo just bubbling with talent, it wasn’t long until other artists started paying attention. And that’s how, just last year, they took the stage with J. Balvin at the Coca-Cola WOW Festival in Tel Aviv and performed their original track “Tudo Bom,” which at 433.3 million views has become the most-watched Israeli video ever.

And now, they’ve managed to add yet another feather to their cap, after their collaboration with Pitbull. And hopefully, as the year progresses, they’ll get even more opportunities to collaborate with other stellar artists!
