Prateek Kuhad’s ON AIR with Indigo!

The Breakfast show with RJ Melbin just got hotter as he caught up with the musician making headlines all over – Prateek Kuhad.

Kuhad was just featured on former U.S President’s top songs of 2019 list and fans world over have lost their minds. His 2018 hit “cold/mess” featured on Obama’s list as one of his faves from the past year and it took only a few seconds before the internet went into a spiral.

In conversation with RJ Melbin, he spoke about the moment that he found out he was featured on the list, saying – “You never see these things coming, you know? It was just a normal evening, I was with my family and someone just sent me a link and I was like “what the hell”.”

Prateek’s career has seen a steady rise in the past few years with him making a name for himself in the indie space, both in India as well as internationally. He spent the last year touring the US, U.K and Europe, booking gigs for thousands in audience numbers. About the exposure he said “I’d been getting some press and it was sort of just word of mouth, you know”.

The song “cold/mess” made an appearance on everyone’s low-key heartbreak playlist with its melancholic vocals and melodic acoustic riffs, making people relate real hard to the pain of heartbreak and the conflict of an ending relationship.

On whether he would have had the same reaction if the current U.S President had mentioned his name rather than Obama, he said “I probably wouldn’t have been as happy about it, for sure, because I’m a fairly liberal person.”

Props to you, Prateek. For more fun interviews like this, tune into Indigo 91.9!
