‘Destiny’s Child: The Untold Story’ was put out by Beyonce’s dad Matthew Knowles who opened up the vaults to share unreleased music recorded back when the American girl group used to go by the name of Girls Tyme.
The 15 track album came out on multiple streaming platforms via Music World Entertainment label owned by Knowles, on Monday (December 2). Songs on the record include ‘Sunshine’, ‘Say It Ain’t So’, ‘Girl Tyme Fun’ and ‘Teacher Fried My Brain’.
The material comes from the early 90s when the early version of the band comprised of Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Robertson. The band evolved into a trio with a classic final line-up of Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle Williams, after the release of their first two albums. The R&B pop trio reunited for a medley performance at the Super Bowl halftime show back in 2013.
Matthew first announced the album back on November 21, but fans took it with a grain of salt and an accompanying book of the same title was also released. It has been news that this isn’t the only Destiny’s Child related project Knowles has been working on. Last spring, he revealed that he was producing a musical based on the girl group, which is slated to debut in the star’s hometown Houston, Texas sometime in 2020.
There has been no official green signal by Beyonce about the musical. The Lemonade songstress and her father have had a rocky relationship over the years. There’s definitely a lot more in store regarding the same that only time shall tell.
