Bazzi’s Releases Ode to Girlfriend with ‘Renee’s Song’

Bazzi is in love and it’s a special kind – the kind that takes you through ‘Renee’s Song’ a celebratory birthday song for his girlfriend of the same name, and then brings a snap in your step with music that feels like it appreciates you, and only you. “I like your skin and your hair and the way that you talk / You a bad little thing, got the step in your walk,” he croons with his signature moody vocals.

How the song came about is an easy story. Like the rest of us, Bazzi woke up motivated to create a song and put it up online no matter what. But unlike the rest of us, he actually went through with it. I for one am all here for the no pretense, no high-budget videos, no cars and models kind of pace music has taken even for big names round the world. He tweeted saying, “i woke up today & decided i would make a song and put it online no matter what… i think it actually turned out kinda hard lol” 

The sound of a love that empowers is what we hear here; and it warms our heart, making us wish upon a star I imagine. “I know I haven’t been a lover, I’ll be here for a while / There’s some insecure people tryna mess with the plans / You help me focus on myself, help me focus on the fans, oh, yeah”
