BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez Are Officially In Your Area

It looks like BLACKPINK have nabbed yet another fantastic collaboration for their upcoming debut studio album. Rising above the flood of speculations, Selena Gomez just confirmed that she’s teaming up with the hit Kpop group for a collaboration. 

The young star took to social media to break the news by sharing what appears to be the cover art for their upcoming track. It features both their names scrawled across in glittery, vibrant font. The backdrop seems to be a strange mixture of dripping chocolate and a candy coloured wallpaper. Selena shared her excitement over their upcoming release in her caption, 

“So SO excited to announce @BlackPinkOfficial and I have a new song coming out August 28th.”

So, while the song is currently untitled, at least we have a release date. And almost two months later, BLACKPINK will make their landing with “The Album” on October 2nd. Not too long ago, the girls also dropped the poster for this record. It featured a dazzling pink crown sitting against a dark backdrop. There’s no clarity on the concept behind this album, but hopefully, with every new gem they drop, we’ll get to piece together the full picture. 

Interestingly enough, before the eruption of rumours around Selena Gomez, fans were convinced BLACKPINK would choose Ariana Grande as their next partner in crime. But one can never say for sure. The girls previously paired up with Lady Gaga for her futuristic, groovy number, ‘Sour Candy‘ which found a spot on her sixth studio album, “Chromatica”. 

So, as BLACKPINK continues to explore the Western market for collaborators, there’s no telling what new dish they’ll bring to the table. And on that note, let’s hope the weeks fly by so we can get out hands on their new track.
