Chanyeol of ‘EXO’ Goes Solo in New Song ‘Yours’: Listen
K-Pop star and rapper of the South Korean boy group ‘EXO’, Chanyeol, goes solo in a new song called ‘Yours’.
Collaborating with fellow musicians Raiden, Lee Hi and rapper CHANGMO, Chanyeol’s ‘Yours’ is a romantic track using snyth-pop elements. As the title suggests, the artists sing about love, innocently asking their lover to: “Love me, don’t hurt me / Just kiss me, don’t burn me / And I’ll be yours. ”
Chanyeol is the lead rapper of popular K-Pop boy group ‘EXO’. While the group remains active, many members are currently serving in the military as part of their mandatory conscription. Prior to Chanyeol’s release, leader of the group, ‘Suho’, put out his very first solo project as well. The album, titled ‘Self-Portrait’, featured the single ‘Let’s Love’ and other accompanying tracks.
Chanyeol is known for his unique style of rap, and his ability to double up as a singer too. His track ‘Stay WIth Me’, featuring Punch, catapulted him into fame as a solo artist. The track served as the OST for the popular K-drama ‘Goblin’, and established Chanyeol as a household name.
‘Yours’ is the kind of up-beat, happy track you need right now. Complete with airy, feeling vocals from Lee Hi, a charismatic rap from CHANGMO, and appealing production from Raiden and Chanyeol, this track is rooted in the familiar sound of pop music today, and is bound to make you smile.
