Demi Lovato Gives Us A Taste of ‘D7’
With artists teasing new music left, right and centre, it appears that Demi Lovato has also jumped aboard that ship. The young star recently took to social media to share a snippet of a brand new track.
So, here’s how it all went down. In a recent Instagram Story posted by Demi, she’s seen donning a vibrant patterned jacket and a pair of shades, while driving around L.A. But aside from her funky outfit, fans were thrilled to hear a snippet of what seemed to be an unreleased song.
Demi is heard crooning, “I know I made it hard for you/ And I owe my part, I’ll tell the truth/ You said that it’d be over/ If I didn’t get sober/ Sober” The song seems to be layered with a peppy electronic beat, which makes a fine pair with the star’s melodic runs. In this snippet, Demi also appears to be experimenting with her vocals and style of singing, but until we get our hands on the full-length track, we can’t say for sure.
According to the star’s caption, which read, “#D7”, it’s highly likely that this is the song’s title. But then again, this title might also be pointing to Demi’s much-anticipated seventh studio set. She’s given us no information on an official release date for the project, but we can safely say that her first single of 2020, ‘I Love Me’ will find a spot on it.
So, What Else Does Demi Have Up Her Sleeve?
Gauging from her single and collaborative record with Sam Smith, the theme for her 7th album will probably revolve around the concept of self-love and growth. The star went through a rough patch in 2018 following her overdose and subsequent hospitalization. And this year, she’s made quite the monumental return. So, much like the content of ‘I Love Me’, her following tunes may also arrive with some self-reflection, details of her past struggles and an embracing of the new version of Demi Lovato.
In other news, Demi has also teamed up with the singer-songwriter, JoJo, for a remixed version of the latter’s hit track, ‘Lonely Hearts.’ It’ll arrive on August 28th, so here’s hoping that Demi drops something in the meantime to keep us occupied.
