Halsey Takes A Big Shot At The Grammys
On November 28, 2020, Halsey took a big shot at the Grammys. She added her name to the long list of superstars that have taken a dig at the Recording Academy. Well, we were just waiting for it! The singer put up an Instagram story that detailed her issues with the award show and this year’s nominees.
What Is Halsey’s Take On It?
Halsey used the create mode on Instagram and just lashed out against the Grammys. From how she felt about being nominated to what the Grammys have now become about, this Instagram story had it all.
The ‘Graveyard’ singer began with an introspective perspective. She said, “I’ve been thinking and wanted to choose my words carefully because a lot of people have extended sympathy and apology to me since the Grammy nominations.”
From then on, Halsey broke into a full-fledged rant that will be remembered for a long time to come. The ‘Without Me’ singer made it clear that she was upset about herself and The Weeknd not being nominated. She also told us about how her album ‘Manic’ also deserved better. And with her track ‘Without Me’ topping charts around the world, we don’t blame her.
Additionally, Halsey commented on the fact that the Grammys is all about “the right handshakes and bribes.” However, the ‘Closer’ singer was also aware of the consequences that may come with this outburst.
She ended the rant with: “But I’m sure this post will blacklist me anyway.”, hardcore, right? While Halsey may eventually get her name struck off the nominee list for good, we definitely hope that it doesn’t happen.
Others Superstars Speaking Out:
Apart from Halsey, The Weeknd is another star who has shown his displeasure towards this year’s nominee list. Following his post labelling the industry corrupt, he put out another post. “Collaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited? In my opinion zero nominations = you’re not invited!”
Furthermore, Elton John, Drake, and 50 Cent have also voiced their support for The Weeknd. If this movement by these superstars is anything to go by then we can’t wait to see what’s to come for the Grammys.
