John Legend Is All Heart

John Legend has spoken up about what the prisoners behind bars in the state of New York must be going through. To start this conversation he has pleaded with the Governor — Andrew Cuomo. 

“Leaders must do everything possible to prevent incarcerated people and those who work in prisons from becoming ill and spreading. Gov. Cuomo, it’s time for action,” he said. “You can make communities across New York safer and healthier by reducing the prison population.”

In a Twitter video post he addressed the governor and made suggestions on how this could be done. He mentioned that granting immediate clemency to the prisoners close to their targeted release dates and those incarcerated for parole violations is one step but the more immediate and needed reform will come if the vulnerable folks — with pre-existing conditions and of older age are released and quarantined.
