Lil Nas X Drops Video For Rodeo
il Nas X just dropped the official music video for his track “Rodeo” and it is the most Lil Nas X thing to have arrived on the scene.
The video references every single cult film of the late 90s, early 2000s and manages to squeeze in some classic light Lil Nas X choreography on the way. From The Matrix to The Blade and even a brief reference to Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller video, the visuals on this one are a treat.
It’s not just all production though. The country rapper throws in symbolism every now and again, reminding viewers and listeners that he has as much of a right as anyone to be here, and doesn’t care too much for people’s opinions. He’s just on his way to dominate the world, but this time as a vampire robot-zombie, only slightly reminiscent of his persona in the “Panini” music video. The video uses the remixed version of the song, featuring industry legend Nas – the same version that the 18 year old rapper performed on the Grammy stage this year. The verses are tight, complete with a catchy underlay of Lil Nas X’s typical country sound.
The outfits are stellar, the make up is exceptional and the sets are gorgeous. If you couldn’t tell, it’s just a great video! Watch on.
