The week’s Billboard 200 Albums Chart is a show of diversity as multi-genre albums land within the Top 10. And, reigning supreme this week is singer-songwriter, Machine Gun Kelly. The singer scored his first ever No.1 on the chart, debuting atop the week’s rankings. He scored the big win with his latest album, “Tickets to My Downfall” – a project that marked his transition from hip hop to punk-pop to the fullest.

“Tickets to My Downfall” Sells Big

In addition, the album climbed to the top of the chart with a total of 126,000 equivalent units sold. Further, ‘Tickets to My Downfall” marks the highest peak in his discography. His other notches on the Billboard 200 include the 2019 release, “Hotel Diablo”, which peaked at No. 5, and two No. 4 rankings with the 2015 and 2012 albums – “General Admission” and “Lace Up” – respectively.

Billboard 200: A Mixed Bag

In a pleasant turn of events, the Billboard 200 boasts a roster of non-commercial wins in the Top 10 this week. Joining Machine Gun Kelly’s “Tickets to My Downfall” are indie-pop star Joji, K-Pop stars, SuperM, and more. The South Korean stars, SuperM, debuted at No. 2 on the week’s ranking, with their debut studio album “Super One: The 1st Album”, logging an equivalent of 104,000 units this week. This also marks their first appearance within the Top 10 of the chart.

Further, Joji debuts at No. 3 on this week’s chart with his second studio album, “Nectar” scoring his second Top 10 on the chart. His previous album, “BALLADS 1” also peaked at No. 3 within its debut week.

Machine Gun Kelly’s Upcoming Work

Kelly’s “Tickets to My Downfall” was produced and written (for the most part) in collaboration with Blink-182’s Travis Barker. Further, the project features big names like Halsey and blackbear. And, sure to add to the numbers, is an official music video for ‘Forget Me Too’, featuring Halsey – slated for release later this week.
