Miley Cyrus and her latest beau, Cody Simpson have come together to work on a new music video. The track, “Captain’s Dance With the Devil” is written and sang by the Australian songwriter, Cody. However, the music video is directed and styled by the American singer, Miley Cyrus.
As Miley Cyrus hops on the track to direct the music video, we learn that she also did the make up, cinematography and styling. In a recent interview, Cody Simpson explains, “Miley interpreted the song, which is reflected in the newly released visual..”.
Cody Simpson explains that the song talks about “Captain’s struggle with societal norms regarding masculinity, his secret affinity for dressing as a woman at a time when this was not as widely accepted as it now has become..”.
Recently, we saw Cody Simpson being dolled up by his girlfriend, Miley Cyrus. The new decked up singer turns into a new character, “Rebecca” who is seen as an inspiration for the song’s music video.
Cody Simpson explains, “The idea was birthed in our bathroom with Miley organizing her collection of lipstick. This led to my curiosity in the art of makeup and being educated by Miley on the process of ‘beating your mug’ and, in particular, the art of drag. It was then that the character of ‘Rebecca’ was born.”
