Miley Cyrus Set to Cover the Greats: Backyard Sessions

Miley Cyrus may be one of the world’s biggest pop stars – what with her unique voice and unapologetic lyricism. But, it turns out that she hasn’t been able to shake off the double life that she led as Hannah Montana. Why, you ask? Because she’s also doubled up as one of the greatest cover artists of all time. 

What’s in Store for Fans?

Cyrus is no stranger to revamping a classic tune, and making it sound brand new. And, this edition of her famous series, ‘Backyard Sessions’, promises some stunning renditions of music from Britney Spears, Velvet Underground and more. And, this time, the live band session is all set to appear on MTV as part of the Unplugged series – a show that has given music lovers many gems. In addition, Miley has been teasing fans with a glimpse at the setlist at the upcoming show. But, that’s not all. The ‘Wrecking Ball’ star has also been treating fans to a flurry of pictures from the upcoming show. 

Past Gems…

This edition of ‘Backyard Sessions’ marks the third in her career. The singer-songwriter has previously uploaded self-produced sessions online. And, in those sessions, the star stunned with acoustic, stripped down covers of Jeff Buckley’s ‘Lilac Wine’, Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ and more. Further, the sessions show off Miley Cyrus’ versatility as a vocalist, capable of pulling off any genre. 

And, fans can expect more live performances from the star soon. In addition to the ‘Backyard Sessions’, Miley Cyrus is also set to appear in the line up for the ‘Save Our Stages’ concert. The event is being held as relief for live venues that are being forced to shut down in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

‘Backyard Sessions’ with Miley Cyrus will premiere on MTV on the 16th of October, 7/6c.
