Pop Smoke Lands Back At No.1 On The Billboard 200

On 19 October 2020, Pop Smoke retook the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200. His posthumous album titled ‘Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon’ reclaimed the top spot after weeks of hovering above it.

The Pop Smoke album rose from the No.3 spot to No.1 on the Billboard chart. This makes it the second time that the record ‘Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon’ has taken the throne. 

The Pop Smoke first took the No.1 spot on the chart on July 18 and dropped down from the spot just a week later. However, this didn’t spell the end for the Pop Smoke album. ‘Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.’ 

For the next 13 weeks, the Pop Smoke album spent its time in the Top 4 of the Billboard 200. Out of this period, the record occupied the No.2 spot for 9 of those weeks. And finally, after over three months away from the top spot, it took back the top position.

Over the last week (ending Oct. 15), the Pop Smoke record sold 67,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. This was according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Updates On The Billboard 200 Chart:

As a result of the Pop Smoke album moving to No.1, ‘Savage Mode II‘ dropped back down to the second spot. The album from 21 Savage and Metro Boomin just fell short of the top spot for the second week. Even though the record sold 66,000 units, it still couldn’t move further up.

Another posthumous album claimed one of the top spots. Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die climbed up a staggering 5 spots to take the No.3 spot. 

As the albums on the Billboard Hot 200 continue to make moves with some groundbreaking moves, all our eyes are on whether Pop Smoke will hold down this top spot.
