SEVENTEEN Take The Retro Route For New Comeback
The rising stars of SEVENTEEN are gearing up to make their October comeback. The boys gave us our first taste of this new era in music through a string of intriguing teasers.
Their first offering was a snippet of the visualizer for a possible upcoming single titled, ‘The Invitation For Youth’; [Semicolon]’. The retro-inspired visualizer opens with a shot of the boys standing around a vintage, olive green car. What follows are black and white vignettes of the members boarding a train, in what almost seems a nod to ‘Murder on The Orient Express’. Between a bit of bowling and popping open a bottle of champaign, SEVENTEEN receive a string of mysterious invitations.
“Work Hard,” “Play Hard,” and “Rest Hard” are the words scrawled across these cards. And finally, as the screen turns dark, the band leaves one last message for their fans. It reads, “Take a break, there’s a long journey ahead of you,” followed by the announcement of their brand new album, set to make its landing on October 19th.
This mark’s the band’s return to the music scene since they dropped their seventh mini album “Heng:garæ,” back in June. The album also arrived with a music video for its groovy lead track, ‘Left & Right‘.
With the new retro wave swallowing modern pop music and gauging from their themed visual, perhaps SEVENTEEN will also take this route. Their comeback joins a long string of Kpop acts, all set to arrive with new projects this month. On the list are TXT, NCT, BLACKPINK, who just arrived with their debut studio album and a number of other artists.
