Shawn Mendes Announces New Single, Album: ‘Wonder’

Shawn Mendes has laid it all out. And, the music world has no choice but to prepare. The singer took the internet by storm late last night, as he announced the arrival of a new era in his musical journey. And, this one goes by the name: ‘Wonder’. 

What is ‘Wonder’?

It all started on Twitter as Shawn pinned a tweet that simply said, ‘What is #WONDER’. Fans immediately predicted an announcement. And, they were spot on.

Moments later, Mendes released a teaser that announced his comeback single – a track called ‘Wonder’. The teaser, posted to his various social media accounts, gave fans a look at the star’s new musical universe. Now, while Mendes has delivered numerous pop hits, this era promises a new side of the singer’s musical versatility.  

And, this one’s complete with a look at the upcoming music video, the track itself and a possible track list (that fans seem to have clued together).

The Album and its Journey

In addition, Shawn Mendes announced that his album, also named ‘Wonder’, is slated for release on the 4th of December. And, the single will arrive tomorrow, the 2nd of October. The ‘In My Blood’ hitmaker took to social media to deliver the news along with a heartfelt message. A note to fans read, “I’ve missed you all so much! I know it’s been a really scary year for everyone so I’m sending buckets of love to all of you.”

Further, he gave fans an idea of what this new era of music holds in store. He wrote, “I wrote an album, it’s called “wonder”. It really feels like a piece of me has been written down on paper and recorded into songs.” And, he continued, “It’s a world and journey and a dream and an album I’ve been wanting to make for a really long time. I absolutely love it.” 

‘Wonder’ by Shawn Mendes marks the singer’s fourth studio album. His previous self-titled album was released back in 2018.
