SZA Says Things with Her Label Are “Hostile”; Details Here

SZA says things with her relationship are hostile

R&B singer-songwriter, SZA, took to Twitter to reveal some unpleasant news with regards to the delay of her album. And, as she’s met with overwhelming support, the head of her label has chosen to address the issue online. And, let’s just say – fans are less than pleased.

SZA, who is signed to Top Dog Entertainment (TDE) headed by Punch, released her last studio album, “Ctrl” back in 2017. The release was met with critical acclaim and much fanfare, and even went on to be nominated at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Further, “Ctrl” marked her debut album. And, aside from her most recent chart-topping collaboration with Justin Timberlake, ‘The Other Side’, things have been sort of hush on the music scene for the singer.

Now, SZA has gone on to become quite the revered artist in the R&B music scene. She has been lauded for her songwriting and production capabilities. And so, it’s only natural that fans were hoping for a much more active music life from the singer, following the success of her album. And, while we know not of the status of her work, we now have some insight as to why the singer’s follow-up album hasn’t yet arrived.

SZA Details Hostile Relationship with Her Label

SZA took to social media to respond to a fan asking about new music. She wrote: “At this point y’all gotta ask punch. I’ve done all I can do.” And, when the fan responded, writing, “Would you saaay this is an adverse or hostile relationship orrr just out of your hands = you don’t know,” the singer responded with a definitive, “BEEN hostile”.

The back and forth took an ugly turn when TDE’s President, Punch, hopped on to social media to air out his own feelings. He wrote: “What’s poppin? What y’all on?”. And, then, went on to say, “I am a person and you guys are hurting my feelings”.

There has been no further comment from either SZA or Punch. But, one thing is for certain. SZA is one of the most evocative artists out there, and any new music from her will be more than welcome. Not to mention, three years is a long wait.
