Taylor Swift Calls out Ex-Label for “Shameless Greed”

Taylor Swift took to her Instagram stories to call out Scooter Braun and her former label ‘Big Machine Records’ for “shameless greed in the time of coronavirus”, after the revelation of a live album release of her performances. 

The American singer-songwriter informed fans that the album is a series of live performances from when she was 18 years old and still signed to her label. She further noted that Big Machine Records has listed the release under the year of 2017, though it is due for release later in the day.

A few months ago, Taylor Swift appealed to her fans in the wake of the news that Scooter Braun had bought all her masters in a deal with Big Machine Records for 330 million dollars. The news took many by surprise, initiating a debate about the rights of artists and writers in the industry as it exists today.
