The Killers Announce New “Imploding the Mirage” Date

Punk/Rock band, The Killers, have came out with a statement on their social media on July 16, 2020 setting August 21, 2020 as the new release date for their latest album “Imploding the Mirage”.

The album was to be released on May, 29th but was pushed back because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The statement on their social media says, “COVID-19 monkey wrenched us. But we persevered. Folks, mark your calendars. “Imploding The Mirage” is out August 21st. Pre-order the album at the link in our bio.”

The new album will be the band’s sixth studio album and will be the follow up for their 2017 album, ‘Wonderful Wonderful.’ Brandon Flowers and co. have confirmed that the new album will feature a line-up of superstar guests like Lindsey Buckingham (from Fleetwood Mac), k.d lang, Weyes Blood, Adam Granduciel (War On Drugs), Blake Mills and Lucius.

The Killers released ‘Caution’ in March as the first single of the album. The track has led fans to think that the “Imploding the Mirage” will have a synth-rock tone to it.

Since then, The Killers have released a couple more singles with the video of their latest one, ‘My Own Soul’s Warning’ releasing just yesterday!

“Imploding the Mirage” will be the group’s first album after moving from their hometown of Las Vegas after coming together in 2001. The album was recorded in studios across Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Park City, Utah. Along with support from the multiple guest stars on the album, Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, Julian Casablancas) and Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado have helped produce the entire record.

The Killers who sang ‘Shot at the Night’ and ‘Somebody Told Me’ are still going strong even after 19 years. With that sort of momentum who knows how great this album will end up being!
