Major Lazer and Marcus Mumford Got You a Shoulder to Lean on
Major Lazer and Marcus Mumford are here to give you a warm comforting hug during this strange perilous times with their track “Lay your head on me”. “Lay Your Head On Me” comes in post Major Lazer’s 2019 release”Que Calor”, which was performed by Blavin at the Superbowl along with Jennifer Lopez. Jlo killed it that night!
The uplifting lullaby is Mumford’s first ever collaboration , it was announced on Tuesday after the groups announcement of their decision to premier a weekly mix series called “A Very Lazer Sunday”. The folky track features verses like “This too shall pass, it won’t always be the same” which get all too relatable for folks like us who haven’t seen sunlight in a fortnight.
Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Ape Drums provide a peaceful backdrop of guitar chords and swaying percussion arrangements while Muf=mfords unique shimmery back up vocals take the limelight.Far from the Major Lazer that put together “Hold The Line” and more in tune with something like “Cold Water‘s” pop appeal, the dancehall trio’s upcoming new album, which could be their last, prove Major Lazer are still developing their sound in new ways, even after all these years.
They released a lyrical video which looks like it came right out of a disney film! Giving off a strange nostalgic vibe of the 90’s comics and animation style , the video has gone viral on the internet! Fan has stormed twitter with love and appreciation for the new tantric track.
Diplo recently revealed his plan to stream his nightly DJ sets due to the COVID 19 crisis. The move was welcomed by many in the music industry who followed suit and announced home concerts for charity. We can’t wait to see more innovative music from Major Lazer! Kudos to them for comforting us during these strange times.
