RJ Rohit caught up with Gavin from the Indie band, Cosmopolis about their brand-new single ‘Parasite’ and their musical journey!

Cosmopolis comprises three core members, Gavin Kendall, Nicholas Platten and David Hussey. The musicians come together from Australia, Belgium and England, either physically or virtually, to make music which will create an impact on the listeners. They record the music in different locations and arrange, mix and master it in the cloud. The band has now returned with a striking new single ‘Parasite’. The song is a dark, mesmerising track that draws the listener into a magnificent but dysfunctional world and refuses to let them leave.

‘Parasite’ is a tale of obsession and self-destruction which juxtaposes disturbing lyrics with beautiful instrumentation, like previously done in Joy Divisions’ ‘Atmosphere’, The Velvet Underground’s ‘Femme Fatale’ and Lou Reed’s ‘The Bed’. The song is full of aesthetic visuals and cinematic drama. The track was released at all digital stores last month, with an official video following a week later.
