RJ Rohit caught up with Indie artist, Jaden Maskie about his musical journey and his new track ‘When you’re around’!

Goa-based singer-songwriter Jaden Maskie has been surrounded by music for as long as he can remember. At age 8, he started singing, and at age 12, he picked up the guitar. In particular, he said, “This helped me immensely when I started making covers in 2016.” Maskie started producing and writing his own music four years ago after relocating from Mumbai to the coastal state. The musician made his debut last year with three singles and one collaboration. Maskie released the exquisite ‘Rhythm Of My Heart,’ his most accomplished composition to date soon after. He claimed that the song was intended to be played repeatedly.

“After I came up with the chord progression, I was able to create an extremely memorable hook, that people can sing easily,” the musician said about the track, ‘Rhythm Of My Heart’. Although the song is classified as pop, several R&B influences can be heard throughout. The musician acknowledges that creating music is a very intimate process for him and involves a lot of trial and error. Maskie is a multi-faceted musician who not only composes and produces his own music, but also mixes and masters it.
