RJ Rohit caught up with Indie artist, Renao about his musical journey and his new track ‘Day Off’!

Pop musician Renao was born in Bangalore and now resides in London. He had all the makings of a badminton superstar until he went to an Aviici concert and got the music producing bug. He ultimately decided to swap the court for the console. He received a lot of fame and fans on TikTok, where his first song ‘Nobody’ became a viral hit, along with many other up-and-coming artists. 

Renao hasn’t been around for very long, but in a short period of time, he has produced a double EP with Zach Nahome, a producer best known for his work with UK artists including Slowthai, Bakar and PinkPantheress. The outcome, ‘A Space Between Orange & Blue’, is an alternative R&B album that is slinky and silky with hints of indie-folk, warm soul and indie-folk. Following previous songs ‘Lifeline,’ ‘Break It Down,’ and ‘Blind,’ all of which will appear on the upcoming EP, comes the funk-driven, instant earworm ‘Day Off.’ The upbeat and carefree song is the ideal illustration of Renao’s newly discovered musical elegance.
