Vrushali Deshmukh

RJ Rohit caught up with Vrushali Deshmukh, a pop singer-songwriter based in Bangalore. Her music delves into a hopeful and unapologetic exploration of human experience and emotion. The songstress began her musical journey at a young age, pursuing both songwriting and poetry, which she eventually merged to showcase her musical talent.

Drawing inspiration from Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, Vrushali’s music weaves a wise yet youthful reflection on her personal experiences, which she presents as a raw, emotional and engaging journey that resonates with many. With her burgeoning creativity, heartfelt vocal abilities, and impactful lyrics, Vrushali is on the cusp of her career. She intends to unveil more songs in the near future that focus on the themes of personal growth and self-acceptance.

Vrushali has released 2 songs so far-‘Just like that’ and ‘Talking to the rain’ produced by her friend, Pavan. She said, “Pavan did a phenomenal job with the production of both the songs. He breathed life into those songs and I am so glad that people get to hear the heart and soul we put into those songs! I am excited to be performing live lately, and thrilled to see where it takes me! I’m excited to play my music at festivals and events, because it’s such a fun experience singing live in front of people and vibing together!”

“For me, the thing that makes me the happiest is when people listen to my songs and tell me that they can relate to the lyrics that I’ve written! To me it is so important when people say that, because that’s all I’ve ever wanted! To express my feelings, thoughts and emotions through my music and connect with people through it, and ultimately feel like we can all relate to each other’s experiences!” she added.

This is what she had to say about her two songs.

Talking to the rain

“Every relationship is supposed to be a two way street. We all know that! And yet sometimes we find ourselves in a situation where maybe, just maybe you’re giving more than you’re getting. Blinded by the fact because you care and love this person. And so you don’t see the early signs of when they’re not there for you as much as you need them to be, or as much as you are there for them!”

“It’s a pattern repeating in a never ending loop. Ultimately you break the loop because talking to them goes in vain, you cry about all of the pain, and you rather just talk to the rain! Or atleast that’s what I said to myself when I was going through these emotions and ended up writing this song!”

Just like that

“Have you ever wondered how the closest person in your life at one point in time, is now a stranger? It’s crazy how sometimes the best of the relationships can be broken in an instant. It takes forever to get over them and you’re left wondering to yourself – “I don’t know what I did, to deserve the hell you rained on me!” ‘Just like that’ is a song that processes those exact emotions. The obsession of how much this person meant to you, and how did things go downhill so quickly!”
