Xperience Sessions With Girish From Girish and the Chronicles

RJ Rohit caught up with Girish from Girish and the Chronicles about opening for Guns N’ Roses and more. 

Girish and the Chronicles (GATC) is a rock band from Gangtok, Sikkim, formed in 2009 by vocalist Girish Pradhan. The current line-up includes Girish Pradhan on vocals, Yogesh Pradhan on bass, Suraz Sun on lead guitar, and Nagen Mongrati on drums. Since 2013, the band has been based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and has released three studio albums.

Over the years, GATC has shared the stage with several well-known international acts. In 2013, they performed with Hoobastank, and in 2014, they played at Bangalore Open Air alongside Destruction. They supported Poets of the Fall in 2016 at St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru, and in 2019, performed with TesseracT at IISc, Bengaluru. The band also accompanied Chris Adler on his The Chris Adler Experience tour across India in 2019.

In recent years, GATC has performed at international festivals, sharing the stage with bands like Nazareth at the UrRock Fest in Switzerland (2021), Skid Row, Kamelot (UrRock Fest 2022), Bonfire, and Mike Tramp (Zurbaran Rock Burgos Fest, Spain 2022 and 2023).

A major highlight for the band came in 2023 when they were special guests for Guns N’ Roses at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, which gained significant attention in the Indian rock scene. They were extensively covered by prominent media outlets.

Additionally, on 24th June, GATC performed at the Summerside Festival in Grenchen, Switzerland, opening for acts like Bullet for My Valentine, Billy Talent, and Alter Bridge. The festival also featured performances by Hollywood Vampires and Airbourne.
