RJ Rohit caught up with Indie artist Geiste about her new track ‘Immortal’ and her love for music.  

Geiste started her musical journey at a young age of 7. She is equipped with the skills of playing a violin, a guitar and a piano. She would write stories as a young girl, and then turn these stories into songs with musical instruments that she had learnt to use previously. This is also what taught her production of music at a very young age. She loves cinematic pop as a genre, and is very inclined towards storytelling through music. 

Geiste stated that artists like Wizkid and Florence and The Machine are her inspirations, and she finds their music fascinating. Her track ‘Immortal’ is chapter 3 from her new EP. She wrote this song while travelling back to London during the pandemic. ‘Immortal’ is filled with rage from the artist, owing to the turmoil that one could witness in the world outside. A major theme of the song is the lack of empathy towards what is going on in the world. 

Geiste also hinted at releasing a new EP very soon, which will be a ballad. She has never indulged in this genre before, so this comes as a very exciting news for her fans.
