RJ Rohit caught up with Indie artist Isheeta Chakrvarty who has deep roots in Hindustani classical music. She also explores her vocal versatility in Jazz and is committed to artistically bridging these two disciplines. She is not only a performer, but also a recording artist who routinely lends her voice to feature and commercial films. Isheeta is a music teacher as well.
In February 2018, she was invited to talk at TEDx Bangalore in partnership with Infosys on her fusion music project, ‘Preserving Authenticity in Merging Musical Narratives.’
Her mission to build bridges began with the release of her debut single, ‘Sawan Ki Ritu,’ a fresh take on maestro Shobha Gurtu’s legendary thumri harmonised in the Jazz idiom, on all global platforms in October 2017.
