Opsyllate

RJ Rohit caught up with Indie artist Opsyllate about his new album ‘Mystery of The Bluebon’ and his musical journey.

Anand Iyer, who is known by his stage name Opsyllate (Oscillate), is a music producer and guitarist from Mumbai, India. He had a keen interest in guitars since 2007, and therefore, he pursued audio engineering from the School of Audio Engineering in Mumbai and then pursued his Acoustics certification from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Ever since, he has produced scores for advertising, gaming, feature films and TV shows. He has also worked as a sound editor and re-recording mix engineer for many notable feature films, documentaries and orchestras!

Opsyllate gravitated towards Indian classical and ambient psychedelic music from an early age. ‘Mystery of the Bluebon’ is a psychill album which features 7 tracks with increasing tempos and old time signatures with hints of rock music and electronica to create a contemporary take on fusion.

The songs in this album are as follows.

  1. Ooniversal Truth
  2. Hoppity
  3. Deep Dub
  4. Mystery of the Bluebon
  5. Darase Bin Lage
  6. Attune to the moon
  7. Psynapse.

The album is set to release on the 20th of January. Anand, said regarding his album, “My inspiration for the album stems from a culmination of my experiences as a composer and an avid psychill listener. It’s a form of expression which helps you explore your subconscious and accompany you on your journey to help you relax and unwind.”
