Kapow!

RJ Rohit caught up with Mayank from the Delhi-based Indie band, Kapow! It is a multi-genre band with a strong Funk, Rock and Pop influence. They draw their inspiration from Bruno Mars, the young prince of funk and soul. 

In 2020, they released a six-track eponymous album. Along with their streaming services, they perform their original songs live while paying homage to Bruno Mars and Queen, in their typical swashbuckling pyjamas and flamboyant spirit. 

Pratyaksh and Mayank Mittal, the band’s lead vocalist, are long-time college friends who came up with the idea for ‘Always Meant to Be’, KAPOW!’s fourth album. Released on 21st June 2022, the track has Sana Arora as the female lead. It is a strong emotional ballad that was recorded at Ferris Wheel Studios and tells the tale of 21st-century long-distance relationships attempting to overcome difficulties.
