Dakota Johnson Makes Fun of Her Limes Moment in Promo for Her SNL Gig

Dakota Johnson recently joined the banter for her upcoming hosting stint on ‘Saturday Night Live.’ Ahead of her SNL appearance on 27th Jan., the ‘Madame Web’ actress playfully poked fun at her viral March 2020 Architectural Digest house tour, particularly the part where she professed her love for limes.

In a teaser released by the show on Wednesday, the 34-year-old actress guides viewers through Studio 8H. As she explores Punkie Johnson’s bustling dressing room, where a jambalaya is being whipped up about ‘The Bear,’ Johnson stumbles upon a bowl of limes. Seizing the moment, she looks into the camera and declares, “Oh, I love limes.”

The SNL team cheekily captioned the post with a simple “love limes.” This light-hearted clip echoes back to Johnson’s original Architectural Digest video, where she showcased her all-green kitchen, enthusiastically expressing her love for limes.

However, the plot thickens. In a surprising turn of events on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ in January 2021, Johnson confessed that her lime admiration was a ruse. It turns out she’s actually allergic to limes and honeydew melon, and they make her tongue itch.

In a candid moment, Johnson revealed that the limes in her kitchen during the tour were placed there as part of set dressing without her knowledge. “I actually didn’t even know they were in there. I was giving the tour and went into the kitchen, and it was set dressing,” she confessed. “It was hard to just ignore them, so I just lied… I went the full opposite direction.”

Fallon responded with an amused “Unbelievable,” expressing relief that Johnson finally came clean about her citrus charade.
