SZA’s ‘SOS’ is still at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the seventh time in a row. The last time an album by a woman achieved this was when Taylor Swift’s ‘Folklore’ spent eight weeks atop the list. ‘SOS’ earned 111,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the last week of January, according to Luminate. While Trippie Redd logged his seventh top 10-charting song with the No. 3 debut of ‘Mansion Musik’, HARDY, on the other hand, got his first top 10 with the No. 4 arrival of ‘The Mockingbird & The Crow’. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption as measured by Luminate.  Of the 111,000 equivalent album units earned by SOS, SEA units comprise 109,500, album sales comprise 1,000 and TEA units comprise 500 units.

This isn’t the first time Florence Pugh is going to release music! Years ago, she uploaded acoustic covers on YouTube under the pseudonym Flossie Rose. After that, she also teamed up with Harry Styles for ‘With You All The Time’. This song featured on the soundtrack of their movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling’.  In the podcast ‘The Run-Through’, Pugh said, “I’ve actually got music being released this year. I wrote music for ‘A Good Person’ and that’s been a whole exciting experience that I’ve been desperate to do for years.”  “Music is one of those things that can mean so much to you, and the less you do it, the less confidence you have and you end up losing your heart in it,” Pugh continued. “For years I was so scared of how to do it, and eventually, this opportunity arose and I read Zach’s script and I said ‘I’ve been inspired to write a song.’ And we put them in the movie.”

Katy Perry recalled a colleague clueing her on to Billie Eilish at Capitol Records imprint Unsub during an event hosted by KIIS FM. The colleague reportedly saw potential for the pair to get together and produce music.  Perry claimed, “She sent me an email one time that was, ‘Hey check out this new artist, I’d really like us to work with her’… and it was a song called ‘Ocean Eyes’ and it was just a blonde girl, and I was like, ‘Meh, boring.’”  “Big mistake,” Perry added. “Huge mistake! Don’t let this hit the Internet.” Billie Eilish’s ‘Ocean Eyes’ turned out to be a hit, made its way onto the soundtrack for the film ‘Everything, Everything’ and racked up a total of 21 Platinum certifications. Artists like Shamir, Alicia Keys and Machine Gun Kelly also sang covers of ‘Ocean Eyes’ subsequently. In an interview, Eilish admitted to initially being thrown off by the attention she received for this song. She added, “I hated going outside. I hated going to events. I hated being recognised. I hated the internet having a bunch of eyes on me. I just wanted to be doing teenager sh*t.”
