The Week in Music: News from 26th Oct. to 1st Nov.
This week in music arrived like a stormy blizzard, serving us everything we needed to hold out. From exciting news of new concerts, brand new albums and a sprinkling of drama, the musical rundown for this week is the poster child of balanced diets.
The Korean pop music scene served up big time, delivering two brand new albums. Girl group, TWICE, released their second full-length studio album. And, coincidentally delivered their best work yet, it would seem. Further, rookie boy group, TXT also arrived with a brand new EP: “minisode 1: Blue Hour”. And, adding to the roster of new albums, pop princess, Ariana Grande landed with her sixth studio album, “Positions”. And, since everything was sunshine and rainbows, Adele stirred up some trouble with her latest stint at SNL.
So, enough talking. And, more scrolling, folks. Here’s the week in music.

2. K-Pop girl group, TWICE, released their second full-length studio album. And, this one features disco, synth-pop goodness. The girls made a 180 degree turn away from their usual bubblegum pop, and it paid off.
3. In addition, K-Pop stayed abuzz with the release of TXT’s mini album, “minisode 1: Blue Hour”. With this record, the boys kicked off a bran new era in the musical universe.
4. Now, Adele took over Saturday Night Live as a host for the first time. But, just as everything was going well, the singer stirred sentiments with a skit that many believed to be stereotyping African communities and essentially racist.
5. And, then, iconic songstress, Celine Dion, was announced as part of the cast for the upcoming film, “Text for You”. In addition, this will mark her film debut. And, she’ll be starring alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
6. And, Shawn Mendes took Canada’s name forward with a flawless performance. The star kicked off his ‘The Wonder Residency’ series on the Jimmy Fallon stage, delivering a theatrical medley of ‘Intro’ & ‘Wonder’.
7. Pop princess, Ariana Grande, landed back on the music scene with her sixth studio album: “Positions”. And, this album is bound to make big moves not just because of Grande but also some heavyweight collaborations with The Weeknd and Doja Cat.
8. In addition, Dua Lipa surprised fans world over with the announcement of a full-fledged virtual live concert: “Studio 2054” slated for the 27th of November.
9. Further, Post Malone proved unstoppable as his single, ‘Circles’, became the lonest charting single by a male lead on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’.
10. And, finally, Megan Thee Stallion confirmed the release of her debut studio album. The rapper posted a picture of herself in the studio, shortlisting tracks for the imminent project.
