‘Vikings: Valhalla’ Season 3 Review: An Epic Finale of a Legendary Saga

The final chapter of ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ has arrived, wrapping up the journeys of Harald Sigurdsson, Leif Eriksson, and Freydís Eiríksdóttir with a dramatic and fateful conclusion. Following the end of ‘Vikings’ and its expansion into this new series, ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ has taken viewers on a historical ride set roughly a century after the exploits of legendary figures like Ragnar Lothbrok and Björn Ironside.

Season 3 picks up after a seven-year gap from the end of Season 2, leaving fans with a new puzzle to piece together. We’re introduced to a world where Harald and Leif are now navigating the complex political landscape of Constantinople, while Freydís grapples with her role as the Keeper of the Faith back in Jomsborg. Harald’s ambition to become King of Norway looms large and Freydís faces her final clash with Christian Vikings.

Although ‘Vikings: Valhall’a Season 3 might not be the strongest in the series, it excels in character development and resolution. The season brings a satisfying closure to the characters’ arcs, with Leo Suter’s portrayal of Harald standing out alongside strong performances from Sam Corlett and Frida Gustavsson as Leif and Freydís, respectively.
