A Star Is Born: Adele Sings Her Way Through Her Age

Adele has become the powerhouse we never imagined she would turn out to be when she was seen as a guest on ‘In The Attic Show‘ in 2007. But, who knew she would be in your playlists for motivating you, giving you closures and even, getting you through a break-up for all the years to come.

Adele was 20 years old when “19” came out, 23 years old when “21” came out and, 27 years old when she released “25”. Though Adele choosing to title the albums on her age seems quite ironical, it only makes her songs more relatable.

Who can leave out her big personality? Be it her blonde hair, stunning gowns, long nails and her gestures while she gets on the stage, she’s got you hooked. Now, even though, she’s lost a tremendous amount of weight during the lockdown, she’s still got a huge place in our hearts.

Adele is unarguably a power not to mess with. She’s got three studio albums, one video album, 17 singles and two EPs, seems less but it’s not. Overall, she’s sold more than 120 million records in the world, impressive, right? Without, her being her, she wouldn’t have achieved all that she has, here’s to her journey.

The Birth Of The Star…

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins turned to just ‘Adele’ when she signed a deal with XL during 2006 and cut to 2008, the emotion-provoking singer drops “19” with 12 tracks. And, with that, she became known to the world for having a soulful voice with meaningful songwriting.

The album went on to the top on UK Album Chart and had major hits like, ‘Chasing Pavements’ and ‘Make You Feel My Love’. It not only did well commercially but also in the following year, let the singer win Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 51st Grammy Awards.

Adele Sings Her Way Through 19 To 21…

Cut to 2011, Adele confesses about her introspection, forgiveness and exploring her heartache into her second studio album, and the result is the beautiful- “21”. From talking about a break up in ‘Someone Like You’ to bringing gospel and disco into a cocktail on ‘Rolling In The Deep’, she was on another level. She sold 31 million copies of the album, like no big deal.

The album, “21” went on to become the world’s biggest-selling release of 2011 and 2012 in the USA and UK. It also spent 24 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, massive, right? There’s more, she also bagged six Grammy Awards and many mentions in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Along with this, rumour had it that Adele will be dropping a James Bond theme track. With that, ‘Skyfall’ came into existence in October of 2011. This bagged her the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Making it to the Bond movies seems enough for us to consider her as a star, but she continued to achieve milestones.

Adele Is Back With A Bang After Five Years.

After which, Adele went out of the scene for almost four years and left people wondering if she’d ever been back. But, then she wasn’t going anywhere. From dropping the teaser of ‘Hello’, she promoted her third studio album, “25”. Going from a ‘break-up’ album to ‘makeup album’, the album was a smashing hit, releasing in 2015. With an old school feel and pop influence, the album has hits like, ‘Send My Love’, ‘We Were Young’, ‘Water Under The Bridge’ and more.

“25” got her to the top in 35 countries and just within the first week of release, she broke all the selling records. Eventually, it became one of the best-selling albums of all time by selling more than 23 millions copies, worldwide. Just going to casually add another achievement into the list of her success, she became the only artist of the 2010s to gain Diamond certification by RIAA and that too, twice with her albums “21” and “25”.

What Is Adele Up to Now?

Recently, Adele took the stage of Saturday Night Live and hosted the event for the first time. Like usual, she was hilarious and even joked about bringing only half of her due to travel restriction because of Covid–19. She sang her hit tracks with many twists and also put on many sketches, putting a big smile on her fans. She didn’t forget to remind people that she is still working on her upcoming album and that’s all we wanted to hear.

We can’t imagine that we have waited for 5 years already and there’s still nothing from her, our way. Here’s to hoping that her album is going to be out sooner than we expect, really. If you’re reading this, Adele, bring out “28”, maybe, soon? *Fingers Crossed*
