BTS’ V Beats Adele, Sets Stellar Solo iTunes Record

BTS' V breaks major record

Vocalist and performer, V of BTS, has set a stellar record, surpassing Adele. It was reported earlier today that his solo track, ‘Sweet Night’, has surpassed Adele’s record of most #1s for a solo artist on iTunes.

Scoring the top spot in 104 countries on iTunes, V’s ‘Sweet Night’ now holds the record for most #1s by a solo artist, beating Adele’s 102 #1s with her 2015 hit track, ‘Hello’.

V released ‘Sweet Night’ back in March, 2020. The track is part of the OST collection for record-breaking K-Drama, ‘Itaewon Class’. The all English track supported by mellow acoustics and V’s deep tone had fans rejoicing at the time of release.

Upon release, ‘Sweet Night’ went on to score the top spot in 77 regions. At the time, V broke PSY’s record for most No. 1s on the iTunes Top Songs Chart.

In some cosmic lining up of the stars, this record comes at the perfect time for BTS. The septet also recently surpassed Adele’s record on the iTunes charts, scoring 103 (now 104) #1s with their song, ‘Black Swan’.

Earlier this week, V also surprised fans with some exciting news, sharing a sneak peek at what fans think may be his first solo release. Singing once again in English, the 40 second (now deleted) snippet gave ARMY a first look at never before heard material. No updates about the track in question have since been released.
