‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ Lands Release Date, Overtaking ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Disney made a daring decision by snagging one of the most sought-after movie dates, 1st May, 2026, which was initially set aside for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’.  20th Century Studios stepped in to give its fashion-forward legacy sequel its own spotlight after Marvel Studios postponed both of its next Avengers movies to allow for additional production time.  Meryl Streep's Miranda Priestly is expected to rule the summer box office runway since there aren't any other big movies scheduled for that weekend.

Typically reserved for superhero giants, the prime release window opened up when Marvel rescheduled ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ to 18th December, 2026, and pushed ‘Secret Wars’ to December 2027—clearing the stage for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ to step into the spotlight and make a stylish statement. The massive scope of both movies, particularly with Robert Downey Jr. returning in a new role as Doctor Doom under the Russo Brothers' direction, is the reason for the delay in Marvel's timeline, according to industry sources.

Aline Brosh McKenna, producer Wendy Finerman, and original director David Frankel are all back together in the much-awaited ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’.  Streep's strong character, Miranda Priestly, will once again be the focus of the movie as she deals with the difficulties of a dying print media empire.  This time, she faces Emily Blunt, who has climbed through the ranks of a prominent advertising business, as her former assistant.

 In interviews, Blunt has alluded to her comeback while keeping her part a secret.  Fan excitement was further heightened by Stanley Tucci, who played the beloved character Nigel, playing a humorous non-answer when asked about his possible involvement.  However, Anne Hathaway's Andy Sachs remains the most mysterious. Given her pivotal part in the original film's continuing appeal, people are eager to see her return in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, even if her comeback has not yet been confirmed.

High fashion, witty humour, and industry turmoil will return to the big screen in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, which has a great date and a returning group of powerful actors. However, Marvel will not be present this time.
