Lauv Releases New Song “Love Like That”

Pop music’s most relatable voice is back in the game. Lauv has released a bonus track from his album ‘how i’m feeling’. It is titled ‘Love Like That’, and has his fans crying tears in every colour of the rainbow. 

Lauv tweeted the release of the new track with an adorable picture of himself, and had fans rushing to check out the track within minutes. The American singer-songwriter put out his debut studio album ‘~how i’m feeling~’ on the 6th of March this year, and has been receiving praise from fans and critics alike. The 21 track album includes hit songs like ‘F*ck, I’m Lonely’, ‘Modern Loneliness’, and ‘Who’ ft. BTS.

And, ‘Love Like That’ finds Lauv in a position of self-reflection and lamentation, wishing he could receive the love he gets and love the same way. Over a sparkly, acoustic track, he sings the lines ” You give me the kinda love that I never had// Wish that I could love like that”, making fans tear up at the sheer relatability of his words. 

Most critical reception of his music commends his ability to be relatable without trying too hard. This point is clear with his latest smash hit ‘Modern Loneliness’ where Lauv explores the millennial paradox of loneliness in a hyper-connected world. 

On the release of ‘Love Like That’, fans have praised his vulnerability, speculating the subject of the song. Many have suggested that he wrote the song for ex-flame Julia Michaels. This isn’t the first time that assumption has made the rounds. Lauv has a song on his album simply titled ‘Julia’. 

Well, ex-girlfriend or not, fans are enjoying the song either way. One fan even commented saying “Prove me wrong and pick one bad Lauv song.” 

Lauv on the other hand seems to be basking in the glory of Lockdown-led self reflection, always spreading positivity. He made people smile with a tweet that read “there’s so much beautiful energy to be tapped into today!” He has been very active on social media during these times, keeping up with fans and teasing new music constantly.
