Louis Tomlinson “Walls” Through new Single

Louis Tomlinson has officially dropped the music video for “Walls” which is the title track off his new album of the same name.
“Walls” was co-written by Noel Gallagher and directed by Charlie Lightning, and we’ve already gotten a taste of this album through songs like, “Two of Us,” “We Made It”, “Kill My Mind,” and “Don’t Let It Break Your Heart.”

In the music video, the former 1D member finds himself in the Morrocan desert with a mysterious door looming over him. As he walks through the door, which almost seems like some sort of time machine at this point, he suddenly finds himself in a ballroom, surrounded by people wearing disturbing masks. Oh, but if you thought that was the strangest part of the video, you were very wrong. A little later in the video, we see mysterious silhouettes of four men standing on a concert stage. That sounds oddly familiar, doesn’t it? The silhouettes clearly resemble Tomlinson’s former One Direction bandmates; Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan.

The English singer has taken his time with this album and the effort he’s put into it has clearly shown. On April 22 he tweeted “I’ve been thinking a lot more about what success means to me. I feel like I’ve been mistranslating it for the last three years. Everything I’ve ever known, in my career, is straight down the middle pop. My expectations and aspirations are all shaped around my experiences, as much as I try and stay realistic I couldn’t help but crave a ‘hit’ single. It’s because of this that I’ve spent so long on this album, trying to fit into top 40 radio when in fact I should start with what I love and work from there instead of trying to write to a more specific formula.”

With his new album, Louis is the last one among the 1D boys to release a solo album and it’s quite a thrill to finally see him come into his own. After all, Tomlinson himself mentioned that the song was about, “coming home, having been on tour, soon after the band had split”, clearly this has been a difficult moment for all of them. Starting off a new era as a solo musician can be so exciting yet daunting, especially when one doesn’t have the support of their bandmates. But, it looks like he’s truly coming to terms with everything that’s happened and we can’t wait to see his growth as a musician over this year, as it looks like that’s something he’s aspiring towards as well!
