Prateek Kuhad Signs Landmark Deal with New Label

Prateek Kuhad has officially signed to renowned American record label, Elektra Records, becoming the first Indian artist to do so. Here's what went down.

Prateek Kuhad just made history, signing with renowned American record label, Elektra Records. The news broke late last evening, and sent shockwaves through the Indian music landscape. In addition, Prateek now joins a list of some of the biggest alternative-pop music acts, and singer-songwriters in the world. The 'cold/mess' singer-songwriter finds himself in the company of the likes of Bjork, AC/DC, Brandi Carlile, Christina Perri, and more. 

Further, Elektra Records exclusively welcomed Prateek Kuhad's  hit, 'cold/mess' to their roster. In addition, the track will see a relaunch, introducing both Prateek and his music to the Western music landscape. The track, which skyrocketed Kuhad to new musical heights, even landed a place on Obama's year-end playlist, piquing the interest of many non-fans.

The announcement was made via Elektra Records' official social media page. The caption read: "Please welcome Prateek Kuhad and his stunning EP, 'cold/mess' to the Elektra Records family! We can't wait for you to get to know this incredible artist." And, with that, Kuhad notches another landmark moment for Indian music.

Prateek Kuhad last made waves with his recent release, 'Kasoor'. The track was met with a lot of fan fare following his previous successes. Further, the music video garnered mass interest from Indian viewers owing to its audience involvement.
