Prateek Kuhad Releases Touching Song “Kasoor”

Indie sensation, Prateek Kuhad, has done it again. The singer has brought fans world over to tears, with the release of his new track ‘Kasoor’. The release was accompanied by a music video that features interesting footage of his fans. It also features some familiar faces like Jim Sarbh, Mallika Dua and Kunal Kamra. 

Prateek Kuhad surprised fans with ‘Kasoor’ – a track originally penned in 2017, and performed at various live shows since. The music video sees fans reacting to a series of questions with nothing but their expressions. Take a look: 

In a statement about the offbeat project, Prateek Kuhad explained: “I sent the [fans] an email asking them if they’d be interested in being a part of a project and many of them responded positively”. He went on to elaborate on the coming together of the project, saying: “We sent them a video with a bunch of questions and prompts and asked them to react naturally on their phone cameras and send that video back to us”. 

The questions are varied, asking: “Think about your first love”, “Remember the person you could never say I love you to”, “The first time you had sex”, and more.

The heartwarming release has been received positively by listeners everywhere. Praising Prateek Kuhad for his ability to create magic with every project, many have credited him with “saving” and “redeeming” 2020. 

Kuhad caught the attention of many when he made an appearance on former US President Barack Obama’s year-end list of his 35 favourite songs of 2019. He has also garnered a lot of attention among netizens through his track “cold/mess” which took over the indie music scene upon release.
