Back in 2019, the American singer-songwriter stirred up quite some buzz when she confirmed that she would be re-recording her early songs. That left her fans all eager to find out what changes Taylor had in store for her old hits.

Now after a 2-year long wait, the ‘Love Story’ singer took to her social media handle to announce the release of her new album-FEARLESS and boy, did we love it!

Taylor’s new album contains 27 songs including a bonus track- ‘Love Story’; the very song that catapulted her into stardom back in 2009! Catch a glimpse of the song right below.

All the old songs in the album like ‘Love story’ and ‘Fifteen’ are still faithful to their original versions. The only change ( and a pleasant one too!) that fans felt, was the more matured and confident version of Taylor than what the world had seen 10 years ago.

The Scooter Braun Deal

‘Fearless’ won Taylor her first Grammy for Album of the Year in 2010. Re-releasing a song is difficult enough. Now imagine the dedication and efforts one would need to put in for an ENTIRE ALBUM!

For those wondering what prompted Taylor to take up this mammoth task, here’s why. The Scooter-Braun deal. Swift was signed to ‘Big Machine Records’, the record company that owns the original recordings of her first 6 albums. Big Machine was then sold to Ithaca Holdings owned by Scooter Braun. Name sounds familiar? Well, that’s probably because he also manages other big names like Kanye West and Justin Bieber and those are definitely not two of Taylor’s favourite people in the world!

With this, Taylor gave the world a glimpse of the nasty business dominated side of the music industry. It takes a great deal of courage and effort to pull oneself away from the corporate clutches and take control of one’s identity. We are super proud of her for doing just that!

Taylor is a very original and humble artist, something that is quite rare to come by in today’s era. We love her not only for the brilliant music she makes but for the efforts she puts into maintaining a close bond with her fans and also for just always being her true self.
