This week, the music industry has been witness to a flurry of activity. There’s been a downpour of award show news and new releases. Over the past few days, Miley Cyrus dropped her anticipated studio album, “Plastic Hearts”, the Grammys dropped their nominee list, and more.
But, that’s not all. The music world has also been drenched in quite a bit of drama this week. The Weeknd expressed his anger towards the Recording Academy, and was supported by many. BLACKPINK teased a new mega-project and Shawn Mendes’ documentary, ‘In Wonder’, lit up screens world over. So, without further ado, dive right in and get your fill of pop culture news.

1. This past week, Shawn Mendes’ documentary, ‘In Wonder’, lit up screens world over. But, was, unfortunately met with mixed reviews. The film gave fans an inside look into the star’s life, and most vulnerable moments.
2. South Korean girl group and megastars, BLACKPINK, teased a mammoth global project. Fans speculate the girls are gearing up for an online concert.
3. Miley Cyrus arrived armed with a new sound and raw songwriting, this past week. The singer finally released her studio album, “Plastic Hearts”, and left everyone in awe.
4. Taylor Swift made history at the American Music Awards as she won Artist of the Year for the third time in a row. She also became the most awarded musician in AMAs history, with a total of 32 awards.
5. The revolutionary queen of pop, Lorde, announced her arrival with two exciting projects: a photo book and an upcoming full-length studio album.

8. BTS Made history this past week, becoming the only K-Pop group to ever be nominated at the Grammys. Their track ‘Dynamite’, scored a nod for ‘Best Pop Vocal Performance Duo/ Group’.
9. Kai of EXO released a sultry teaser of his upcoming track, ‘Mmmh’. Further, he geared up for the release of his first ever solo album, ‘KAI’.
