As he prepares to accept a big film award in London this weekend, Tom Cruise celebrated in the only manner he knows how: with an incredible stunt that left fans stunned.
The iconic actor was seen standing atop London's BFI IMAX building, one of the biggest movie theatres in the UK. In classic ‘Mission: Impossible’ fashion, Tom Cruise was seen in a fine suit looking out over the city skyline from the theatre's tall rooftop in footage taken by Discussing Film and later verified by Deadline.
Promotional artwork for ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’, the most recent and potentially last instalment in the revered action franchise, was displayed on the structure itself. Naturally, social media was ablaze with responses to Tom Cruise's audacious rooftop moment. While some people were just in awe, others made fun of his seemingly carefree attitude from so far above the ground.

In one of the videos, an onlooker had a view of Tom Cruise on the IMAX rooftop, saying, the action star seemed to be having some “diva time”. While on a study break, another fan noticed the act and was astounded to see Tom Cruise standing atop the BFI. In other videos, he was seen waving cheekily at the people below.
With intentions to visit the Cannes Film Festival in France next week, Tom Cruise is presently promoting ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ nonstop. The eighth entry in the venerable series, which debuted in 1996 and has since revolutionised the contemporary action genre, will be released in theatres on 23rd May. With every new film, Tom Cruise has raised the standard by pulling off ever-more-deadly stunts that leave viewers on the edge of their seats.

Simon Pegg, his longstanding co-star, recently thought back on some of the more outrageous things Cruise has done, such as climbing the Burj Khalifa in ‘Ghost Protocol’ and clinging to a military plane during takeoff in ‘Rogue Nation’. Tom Cruise's willingness to take risks astonished even Pegg, who said that the airborne stunt was one of the few times he had ever seen Cruise exhibit obvious nervousness.

Tom, however, insists that the heart-pounding scenes are part of the narrative and is still dedicated to authenticity. He remembered thinking in the middle of the terrifying takeoff scenario that it could have been a horrible idea, but after seeing the finished video, Tom Cruise realised it was worth it.
The excitement surrounding this movie legend isn't going to let down, especially with ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ approaching and Tom Cruise enthralling audiences with his real-life spectacular once more.
