Tom Cruise to Make Movies Till His 100s

Tom Cruise has no intention of taking a vacation or leaving the film industry.

After the worldwide premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ made its U.S. premiere in New York recently.

The movie, which is billed as the concluding instalment in the story of Ethan Hunt, seems to be Tom Cruise's final appearance as the renowned IMF agent.  As he walked the red carpet, Tom Cruise admitted that the title is accurate and that this is the end of the nearly three-decade-long plot arc.

Even with Ethan Hunt's departure, Tom Cruise's filmmaking career is far from over.  In response to earlier comments that he was influenced by Harrison Ford's durability in action roles, the 62-year-old actor now states that his goals go well beyond his 80s.  He reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to his profession, stating that he intends to keep making films well into his 100s and that his love of all genres of film, from comedy to drama to action, is still as strong as ever.

When reflecting on the 1996 launch of the franchise, Tom Cruise said it was incredibly fulfilling on many levels.  He talked about the international crews and filmmakers he has worked with, and how each production has expanded his knowledge of culture, leadership, character development, and narrative.  Making movies is a longtime passion of his that he views as more than simply a job.

When asked how he gets ready for the strenuous stunts that characterise the ‘Mission: Impossible’ movies, Tom Cruise said that he goes through a number of rigorous pre-stunt procedures.  He has been able to stay safe throughout some of the most hazardous scenes ever captured because of his procedures, which are customised for each unique situation and require a great deal of planning and effort.

Returning for his fourth instalment in the franchise, director Christopher McQuarrie hailed Tom Cruise as a perfect partner.  He characterised the star as giving, bold, and constantly willing to take on new challenges, even if he doesn't first completely understand them.  McQuarrie claims that Tom Cruise offers the ideal balance of being a student and a teacher, constantly eager to learn and take the lead.

Pom Klementieff, Simon Pegg, Greg Tarzan Davis,  Esai Morales, Hayley Atwell, Katy O'Brian and others are among the other actors who appear in ‘Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning’.
