In a revealing cover story interview, Curtis Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent, shed light on his significant role in the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show. Jackson, who is widely recognized for his hit ‘In da Club’, discussed his relationship with Eminem and the circumstances that led to his unexpected performance.

According to 50 Cent, there was initial resistance to including him in the Super Bowl lineup. "They didn’t want me there," he admitted, explaining that Eminem had insisted on his participation. "Eminem wouldn’t do it without me.

That’s how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn’t do it." Jackson elaborated, "When that happens, you go, 'Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn’t bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.' But if it was up to them, they would not have me there."

50 Cent also revealed that his appearance was meant to be a surprise. "I’m surprised. I’m not on the bill at all," he noted. Despite not being listed as part of the performance lineup, his inclusion was crucial for Eminem’s participation. Eminem himself, who is known for his hit "Stan," expressed his close bond with 50 Cent, saying, "50 is like a brother to me."

In a separate development, 50 Cent announced plans to adapt the 2002 film ‘8 Mile’, which is a semi-autobiographical portrayal of Eminem’s life, into a television series. This project was confirmed during 50 Cent's cover story He stated, "I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile to television," with Eminem set to assist in the show's production. Jackson emphasized the importance of the project, saying, "It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain't got no duds. I’m batting 100."

50 Cent elaborated on the series' scope, noting that it will provide a deeper "backstory" to the film and offer a glimpse into Eminem's younger years. He expressed a strong desire for the series to honor Eminem’s legacy and introduce his story to a new audience.
