‘Angry Birds 3’ in Development: Josh Gad and Jason Sudeikis to Return for Third Installment

The eagerly awaited ‘Angry Birds 3’ movie is in the works, with fan-favourite voice actors Josh Gad and Jason Sudeikis returning for the animated adventure. Prime Focus Studios has confirmed production of the third instalment, as revealed in a recent press release.

According to the statement, the original cast members are set to reprise their roles, with Gad voicing Chuck and Sudeikis returning as Red. Funding for the film comes from producers Sega, Rovio, and DNEG Animations. John Rice, known for co-creating ‘Angry Birds 2’ and contributing to acclaimed animations like ‘Rick and Morty’ and ‘Bob’s Burger’, is directing the third instalment.

This time, Thorup Van Orman, co-director of ‘Angry Birds 2’, takes on the role of writer. While the plot details remain undisclosed, the movie promises to continue the adventures of ‘Red and Chuck’. In a statement, Sega’s President and COO, Shuji Utsumi, expressed excitement about the production, aligning with their strategy to expand the ‘Angry Birds’ brand across various media platforms.

The first two films in the franchise collectively grossed over $500 million worldwide, featuring a star-studded cast including Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, and Peter Dinklage. The third instalment is eagerly anticipated by fans of the globally beloved ‘Angry Birds’ franchise.
