The final trailer for 'Wicked: For Good' has officially arrived, and it showcases the fiercest clash yet between Glinda and Elphaba. Released on 24th September, the new preview reveals Ariana Grande’s Glinda and Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba in a dramatic showdown that even turns physical when Glinda slams her wand against Elphaba’s broom on the yellow brick road.

The footage highlights the tension between the two friends-turned-rivals. Glinda, now stepping into the role of a public figure, struggles with the expectations placed upon her, while Elphaba mocks her in a way that underlines just how far their relationship has fractured.

What to Expect From 'Wicked: For Good'?

Fans of the original Broadway production will recognise powerful musical numbers woven into the trailer, including Glinda's 'Thank Goodness,' and Elphaba's explosive anthem 'No Good Deed.' A glimpse of a wedding between Glinda and Fiyero, played by Jonathan Bailey, quickly descends into chaos as stampeding animals interrupt the ceremony, with Madame Morrible, portrayed by Michelle Yeoh, pointing to Elphaba as the cause.

Romantic tension also takes centre stage, as the 'Wicked: For Good' trailer teases an emotional moment between Elphaba and Fiyero during their duet 'As Long as You're Mine.' Meanwhile, Glinda's signature charm shines through in lighter moments, including her delight at receiving her magical bubble. The Ozdust Ballroom dance scene also makes a return, bringing some nostalgia for fans of the first film.

What New 'Wicked: For Good' Offers?

The trailer goes deeper into Oz's mythology, offering quick looks at the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow—characters who will eventually join Dorothy on her journey. One striking shot shows Elphaba's sister, Nessa Rose, levitating as her sparkling shoes transform into the iconic ruby slippers.

Directed once again by Jon M. Chu, the film continues the story from 2024's 'Wicked: Part One,' which became a record-breaking box office hit and went on to earn two Academy Awards and 10 nominations. Written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, it was based on the Broadway classic by Holzman and Stephen Schwartz.

The sequel explores Elphaba's fight for the freedom of Oz's silenced Animals after she is branded the Wicked Witch of the West. Meanwhile, Glinda fully embraces her glamorous role as the celebrated "Good Witch," thriving on fame and influence in Emerald City.

At its core, 'Wicked: For Good' is about the complicated bond between Elphaba and Glinda. Both women will need to look past their differences, see each other with honesty, and ultimately discover how they can change themselves—and all of Oz—forever.
