'Belle & Sebastian' Make Cameo Appearance in the Latest Episode of 'The Simpsons

Scottish group 'Belle & Sebastian' appeared in the recent episode of ‘The Simpsons’, which marked the show's 35th season premiere on 1st October 2023.

The episode featured Groundskeeper Willie falling in love and marrying a character named Maisie, voiced by Karen Gillan from Marvel. Additionally, David Tennant, another actor from ‘Doctor Who’, lent his voice to Pa MacWeldon.

In a unique twist, 'Belle & Sebastian,' the indie pop band formed in Glasgow in 1996, provided the music at the rehearsal dinner.

The episode showcased a new original song by the band titled 'Willie And The Dream Of Peat Bogs,' accompanied by a music video for the track.

Lead Singer Stuart Murdoch Shares the Snap on Twitter

Lead singer Stuart Murdoch shared a snapshot of the animated band on Twitter, standing in front of a drum set labelled 'The 'Belle And Sebastian' Experience,' expressing, "I think they portrayed us quite well. What do you think? Beans and Stevie are particularly well represented."

This pertains to the band's lead guitarist, Stevie Jackson, and its keyboardist, Chris Geddes, affectionately known as 'Beans.'

On the other hand, Gillian shared a screenshot from the episode on her Instagram, along with a caption that stated: "I can finally announce the role I was born to play. That’s right folks, I’m Groundskeeper Willie’s new Scottish love interest in ‘The Simpsons’. So honoured to join this legendary show!!!! The episode airs this weekend!"
