Ben Affleck Not Present at Jennifer Lopez's 55th Birthday Party

Ben Affleck was notably absent from Jennifer Lopez's recent birthday celebration. Multiple sources have confirmed to PEOPLE that Affleck, 51, did not attend his wife’s Bridgerton-themed party held in the Hamptons. Lopez, who will turn 55 on 24th July, celebrated her birthday with guests dressed in regal attire, including her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, who wore a blue gown with white lace details.

Lopez and Affleck married in a private Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, followed by a larger celebration in Savannah, Georgia. This summer, Lopez has been on the East Coast, having recently travelled to Europe without Affleck.

On their second wedding anniversary earlier this week, the couple spent the day apart; Lopez went on a bike ride in the Hamptons, while Affleck was seen arriving at his office in Los Angeles. Affleck has spent most of the summer in California, missing several events with Lopez, including the Met Gala and the premiere of her film ‘Atlas’, due to filming commitments for ‘The Accountant 2’. Despite completing the film, Affleck remained in Los Angeles through the Fourth of July holiday.

Lopez was recently spotted biking in the Hamptons with Affleck’s daughter Violet, 18, from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner. They were later seen walking together in Southampton, New York, with Violet’s friend.

A source told PEOPLE that Lopez and Affleck's marriage is currently facing challenges, noting that their issues are unrelated to Lopez’s fame. Another insider mentioned that the couple's difficulties stem from deeper problems, not from Affleck's discomfort with Lopez’s celebrity status.
