The trailer for 'One Battle After Another,' a new action-thriller from acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson, has been released, along with the film's release date of 26th September. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the lead role of Bob Ferguson, a disheveled ex-revolutionary on a mission to rescue his daughter when old enemies reappear. In order to accommodate its magnitude and the director's vision, the movie, which was shot on 35mm film using VistaVision cameras, was delayed from its original August release date to late September.
Del Toro's Take: Admiration and Artistic Synergy
Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere, Benicio Del Toro called working with DiCaprio "a tremendous opportunity" as well as "a great experience." He claimed to have admired DiCaprio "for decades" and to have centered his act around DiCaprio's presence when the two eventually reunited. Del Toro said, "With Leo, you just let him bring the character … he's the story."
He also mentioned that his own part was designed to complement and strengthen DiCaprio's performance. This off-screen admiration is reflected in the mentorship relationship between their characters, Bob and Sergio.
